End of year message from Jim Crater
Dear Friends:
It's that time of year to wish you all a great holiday season. The good news here is we made it through another most difficult year. We are in serious need of additional volunteers for research and to work on collection days. If you'd have any available available time - a few minutes to make phone calls or more time to help with accounting - it would be greatly appreciated. We also need to raise funds to meet payroll and insurance that the gate fee doesn't stretch far enough to cover.
The plastic cap grinding has stalled. The last mailing had us almost ready to go, but loss of an employee and market problems as well as having limited space has left us with me to do grinding and health reasons have kept that from happening.
On a personal note, thanks for the well wishes and the help with my hospital transition fund. I'm now back for part of the day on Saturdays.
We have quite a number of solar space heating panels looking for a home. At $50 each they are quite a bargain. Keep your eyes open for other deals as we need to make more space.
This time we're trying the e-mail list only for our supporting membership drive, along with Facebook and our web page. Hopefully we've reached most everyone, but we'll see on the response. A final note is our membership meeting is being held Saturday December 16th at 3pm at Temple United Methodist Church, 1390 Unionville Rd in North Coventry (Pottstown, 19465). Please feel free to join us.
Thanks for your continued interest and support.

Newest Postcard Mailing
Dear Friends:
For those of you buried under a mountain of hard plastic #5 caps, we're pleased to announce that at long last, our plastic grinder will be up and running soon. We are in the process of finishing an enclosure beneath to catch the particles, and once we've caught up on the excess material on site, we will post an announcement on our website, Facebook page, and through our e-newsletter (for which you may sign up by clicking here).
It's also the time of year when we get all our renewals for insurance, and must pay off our outstanding balance on accounting work. New to our website and FB page is a link to donate online (the handy & environmentally-friendly method), via PayPal; we do accept donations through our regular mailing address, too.
Future projects include securing a nearby workshop space, through which we can continue to pursue the R&D work in alternative energy and education that is essential to our mission statement of environmental commitment. Stay tuned for info on our crowdfunding venture for this, and other projects.
Thanks for your continued interest and support.

Monthly tour sign up has begun!
Jim's daughter Amy will be leading monthly tours of RSI beginning April 1st, 2017. Tours will be held on collection days from 11AM-12PM. We will meet outside the gate in the parking lot. If you're interested in a tour, please email [email protected] to reserve your spot (20 spots available per tour). The tours will be free with a $10 per person suggested donation to help with furthering our outreach. If you're new to RSI or want to know more about what we collect and what all we do, this tour is for you. It's also a chance to meet other like minded individuals that utilize RSI as their community-based recycling center and alternative energy resource center.
If you're interested in a school tour or group tour but aren't available Saturdays, email us and we will try to work something out.

Stop by the next few Saturdays to help us clear out our sales tent for the colder months! Lots of "new" treasures are coming to light as we prepare to downscale our outdoor yard sale area; here's a selection of this week's trove.
Please note that we are accepting outdoor items for resale only until the end of October -- Saturday, October 29th would be the last day. After that, kindly save your good used items til spring!
